The Fundació Catalunya Europa has travelled to Lisbon to strengthen alliances with European organisations committed to a more federal European political project, capable of reacting to and addressing current challenges. Within this framework, we met with Filipe Guimarães Silva, director of the Fundação Mário Soares e Maria Barroso, an institution with which we share the aim of preserving the memory and political legacy of key figures in the construction of Europe. Soares and Maragall were allies in defending a united, open, and social Europe, and today we reaffirm this connection to drive forward joint projects.
During the visit, we also met with Rui Reis, delegate of the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia in Portugal, to explore avenues of collaboration between Catalonia and Portugal at the European level. We continue working to build alliances that strengthen the role of cities and territories in shaping the future of Europe.
