The European Union has long been torn between two visions: the “United States of Europe” and the “Europe of States.” A deeper European integration has often been seen as a guarantee of lasting peace, and despite obstacles, the European project has progressed towards a stronger, more cohesive, and broader union. However, in recent years, this progress appears to have stalled.
Classical European federalism may offer tools to navigate the current uncertainty. In this context, the Institut d’Estudis de l’Autogovern and the Fundació Catalunya Europa invite you to the presentation of the book Escrits sobre l'Europa federal. Selecció de textos d'autors sobre la postguerra.
In collaboration with the Institute for Institut d’Estudis de l’Autogovern, we are hosting a dialogue between Mariola Urrea, Associate Professor of International and European Union Law at the University of La Rioja, and Gerard Casas, historian and author of the book’s introductory study. The event will also feature contributions from Klaus-Jürgen Nagel, Xavier Arbós, and Dolors Camats.
The presentation will take place on March 20, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the Sala Cotxeres of the Palau Robert (Pg. de Gràcia, 107, Barcelona).
